The wine has a bright, deep purple-red colour. Fragrant ripe plum with a touch of black pepper, oak and rose aromas. The tastes are dark berries, cake spice, black pepper and subtle oak vanillin. In mouth the wine has rounded tannins and a velvety, smoothness. The wine shows good complexity and density. The finish is long with more fruits with a hint of cocoa and spice.
Linsey-Ann recommends Mahurangi Duck with Marinated Fig Sauce. Serve with a choice cut of steak, lamb, venison or duck with either a wine sauce or sweet + savoury sauce like a cherry sauce or spicy plum sauce.
