The colour is a deep and dark red. The aromas are leathery and smokey, a touch of black fruit (cherry/blackberry) and a touch of peppery spice. On the palate the wine feels soft and elegant, with some leathery, cedary/oaky and spicey fruit cake flavours (christmas cake). The finish is long and minerally.
FOOD MATCH: red meat, pepper, mushrooms, herbs. Serve with roast seasonal kumara, pumpkin and beetroot and some fresh beans.
