Winery: Omaha Bay Vineyards
2007 Omaha Bay Vineyard “Impostor” Flora
This wine has a crystaline light straw colour and aromas of citrus peel (citrus mix for baking fruit cakes), marmalade and peaches. There is something reminiscent of honeysuckle blossoms. On the palate, this is a sweet wine with a velvety/silky texture that has an lovely, crisp acid presence that stops the wine from being cloying and sticky like honey on the finish. It tastes of orange zest and peaches on the palate.
At the Vintry, we serve this wine successfully instead of aromatics like Gewürztraminer and Riesling. We also recommend this wine as an aperitif (before dinner drink) to excite the taste buds. It would match with soft, creamy cheese if served as an aperitif or with Asian (Cantonese, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese.) inspired canapés or dishes.
