Takatu unfiltered Merlot Franc is the premium Takatu wine, made only in the years where the grapes are exceptional: Dark purple colour with floral aromas and ripe dark blackberry and loganberry (a cross of blackberry and raspberry) fruits. Also black plum, cedar and chocolate. The palate has more berry fruit flavours with a backbone of velvety smooth tannins. Quite a full-bodied wine with a long spicy plum finish
