The Vintry in Matakana is New Zealand’s only wine centre and bar dedicated to the sales and promotion of locally grown wines – our wine selection is proudly, purely Matakana.
Try it by the glass, and take it home by the bottle
At The Vintry we are passionate about the wines grown in the Matakana region. We offer wine tastings, an extensive selection of Matakana wine by the glass and all the wines are available “to go” at cellar-door prices.
The Vintry is designed for informal, relaxing wine appreciation and retail. Our bar is decorated with used barrel staves and our tables are made of rough-sawn rimu beams recycled from an old shearing shed. We have a deck for the summer months and a real wood fire to warm the place in the cooler months.
Enjoy the ambiance of our on premise facility or take in a glass of Matakana wine to enjoy with a movie in the opulent boutique cinemas.
We offer are a selection of food boards, prepared in our tiny kitchen, to compliment wine and also other alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks.
We also hold the Matakana Wine Trail Map. We visit the vineyards often and talk to the winegrowers and winemakers often so can provide you with up to date information regarding cellar doors or vineyards.
