Wine Tasting

This is a great way to learn more about wine.  It is informal and so much fun, that you don’t even realize you are deepening you understanding of wine appreciation, wine making and wine-growing!

Available from 10 am until 5pm (and after 5pm by simple arrangement).

The tastings are organized into flights (groups with a common theme).  Included in each tasting are water crackers to cleanse and rest you palate and a brief talk on the variety or wine-style. 

The tastings are offered blind (the labels are concealed) and at the end of the tasting the wines are uncovered and discussed.  You’ll be ask if you have a favourite and one that you enjoyed less.  Our flights are both fun and informative, aimed a deepening your understanding of and appreciation for the intricacies of wine-growing.

Variety Flights from $ 10.50 - $12.50

Under the “Celebrating the Diversity of Matakana Wine” flag we offer a tasting of five wines, all Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Rosé or Bordeaux blends, all of which are locally grown.  The flights on offer are seasonal, eg  the Rosé flight is only available in summer.  If you would like to make up your own flight, we can put this together for you.

Trio of Tastings $5.00

An informal tasting presented at the bar.  You can choose 3 wines from the selection of wines we have available by the glass.

Group Bookings

For groups of 4 to 14 people bookings are essential to avoid disappointment.
